Utah Bloggers & Feed Maps

Okay, just a quick post today. I was speaking with some bloggers from the Utah Bloggers Conference and we were discussing the need for a grapical map to see how bloggers are laid out regionally. At the time, I couldn’t remember this site, but here it is:

1st Utah Bloggers Conference

I tried blogging from the 1st Utah Bloggers Conference but I was rushed so I’m blogging it this morning.

Overall, at the 1st Utah Bloggers Conference I was very impressed. It was totally free — free attendance, free pizza, free drinks, and free snacks.

The panelists were knowledgeable the topics were very general in nature. However, I realize that many attendees are new to blogging so it was appropriate.

At least 100 people attended and I’m sure it will grow over time — I’ve got three (3) bloggers I’ll be inviting next time around.

Tonight’s panel included the following:

Cydni Tetro, VP of Marketing at Nextpage
- Carry podcasting equipment to capture important conversations. Skylook for phone podacsts or Audio blog.

Phil Burns, COO of Provo Labs
- PR 2.0, Web 2.0

Phil Windley, Executive Producer of IT Conversations, Technometria, Utah Politics.org
- Weblogging

Tim Stay, CIO of Know More Media
- 60 site blog network with hired bloggers (experts) since November 2005 with 1M page impressions. Noticed that About.com was more of an aggregator rather than content producer.

Pete Ashdown, Pete Ashdown U.S. Senate Campaign, XMission
- People slow to use new media

Technorati, Digg, Reddit, Delicious and how they play a role in blogging.

I’m finally again motivated to blog regularly. I haven’t been blogging here lately because I briefly moved to Typepad and then I’ve focused heavily on blogging for work.
