I met Jason Alba from Jibber Jobber by email for the first time several months ago, but we finally met in person last month at the geek dinner in Utah. We also discovered we have a mutual friend who runs Policy Technologies, a document management software.
So we introduced ourselves, talked about what Jibber Jobber does, how he does his marketing, and who uses his product.
I think I get it and here’s what I know:
It’s a contact management system for job seekers
It’s a relationship manager for hired employees
It can be used by anyone who needs to keep in touch with a group of people for networking purposes
I just started networking within the last 8 months and it’s paying off very well for me financially. I believe that the momentum of networking is much like a snowball downhill but you’ve got to network for the right reasons and create good relationships that don’t exist out of desperation.
I usually check out my log files at night to be sure that I’m bringing traffic into my blogs where I want it. Then I make adjustments where necessary to get what I want out of the search engines.
Here are two recent examples of why I blog everyday. No explanation is necessary once you click to enlarge each screen shot.
I love riding motorcycles, and I miss it because my wife would like to have a father for our children, so when I saw this on YouTube I couldn’t resist.
Finding things from phone books is so irritating and going to Google is rarely helpful unless the retail store you need is well ranked in the search engines.
If you’re looking for atv rentals you can try RentalToys.com in Lindon Utah.
So I’ve been on twitter for four days now and I’m getting into it a little more each day.
I wasn’t impressed when I first read about (when was that — like 1-2 months ago) because it seemed to be another way to waste time during the day. However, it can be just the opposite as well.
I’ve had to drop some friends already because the volume they post is ridiculous. I’ve had to figure out how to connect/disconnect from my phone. I’ve had to turn off texting while at home because my desk vibrates every few minutes otherwise.
I’ll keep working with it to see if this is something I can completely embrace, but I’m entirely intrigued so far.
Attending the geek dinner last night was the best thing to happen to all week. I’ve been fighting email server issues, trying to redesign Brides Club, start a couple new blogs and upgrade Wordpress, and more extremely pressing projects that all need my attention at once.
So we discussed Twitter all night — almost to the point of ridiculous. I’m a brand-new Twit so it was interesting to hear the different points of view. I’m still not hooked but I’m intrigued.
Two of my brothers have already purchased home theater systems and had them installed by James and they are rocking. My system will be installed later this year once my new Samsung television is purchased. Note to self: you should get pictures next time you’re there.
Until then, visit Sound Waves Hi-Fi and tell James that Ash sent you so you can get a smoking system.
