If you're new here, you may want to subscribe to my RSS feed. Thanks for visiting!

So there’s a new blog in town called Human Census which can be found at Wordpress.com and hopes to reach out to the world population and discuss several things that come to mind for each of us every day.

I’ve been participating for a couple of days now, and I plan to continue, so I’d like to invite you to join us.

Today’s question has to do with commuting and your mode of transportation.

I Love/Hate Blogging

Posted on June 27th, 2007 in Blogs | 1 Comment »

I’m blogging from my Motoroa Q phone, which I’ve grown to love. I can’t live without it. I carry it everywhere and annoy everyone around me in the process. ;-)

However, this post is about my love/hate relationship with blogging because I realized that’s it’s the blogging that’s taken over my life lately. No, really. I’m not saying this for sympathy or any other reason other than to say that I can’t leave blogging alone even though it’s currently consuming me.

So I’m overwheled with all this cause I’m expanding my blog (and blogger) network and it’s proving difficult — that must mean it’s worth it.

So here’s my list of loves with blogging:

1. I love that it makes me feel better after I post my thoughts.

2. I love that it’s so easy.

3. I love that I can share it with anyone.

4. I love that others can find me.

5. I love that this list could go on for about 1000 more lines.

My list of hates is fairly limited (even if this list is not exhaustive):

1. I hate blog spam.

2. I hate that blogs “should” be separated by subject. It would be much easier on the author otherwise.

3. I hate that I have so many opinions to write about.

4. I hate that setting up Wordpress is giving me trouble again. It’s only happened with one blog so I shouldn’t complain.

5. I hate when people ask me what blogging is.

So that’s all for now. I’m feeling better already and this post hasn’t even been published yet.

Reasons for MIA

  • Overwhelmed
  • Too many ideas; not enough time
  • Embarrassed to find my wife blogs more than I do
  • Redesigning my redesigned Brides Club site and adding new features
  • Creating and proposing several ideas for Brides Club; trying to make one stick
  • Setting up a new corporation
  • Working to find off-shore workers; or at least cheap labor on Elance
  • So far, I’m impressed with Elance
  • Studying Craigslist for marketing purposes.
  • Fighting blog spam and installing new plugins
  • Shopping for a new car
  • Making final family vacation plans
  • Getting ready to have my 3 nephews in town for 10 days
  • Hey, I even rode my bike this week.

It’s A Girl… Dog

Posted on June 3rd, 2007 in Family | 4 Comments »

My wife has been looking at toy dogs for a few years now and she found one, no doubt while I was away, that she had to have. The breeders were nice enough to wait for me to return from my road trip so I could at least spend a few minutes with her to learn her personality (I have to live with her too). My wife was all giddy and couldn’t wait to bring her home last night.

She settled in nicely last night, didn’t give us any trouble through the night and is about 50/50 on potty training so far. My deal was that we wait to replace the carpet if she gets a dog so at least the dog doesn’t ruin our new floor.

We’re trying a few names out in this order: Bailey (Monica’s fav), Bear (my fav), Polar (my second fav), Maya (Monica’s second fav), and Cash (she wasn’t cheap)

Take a look at her and tell me what you think.

Las Vegas Mini-Vacation

Posted on June 3rd, 2007 in Family | 1 Comment »

This last week, I flew to Las Vegas to pick up my brother’s BMW 330i to take care of it while he’s overseas and while we were there we decided to take in a few of the sights, swap our music collections, check out the newer casinos and eat some really good food.

We decided to try the Sahara Hotel ride called Speed the Ride. It’s incredible how fast they get you going. It’s like 0-to-45 in like 2 seconds. Then from 35-to-70 in 2 seconds. That may not sound like a lot but I’ve been telling people it was like 0-to-80 in like 1 second cause that’s what it feels like. It’s truly a killer ride. The ride is like $10 and it’s usually less crowded at night.

We also went up to the Stratosphere observation deck to consider riding the rides. That’s just insane. Check out this video of the X-Scream at the top of the Strat. I’m not sure how much the rides are but getting to the observation deck is like $11.

The big moment for us in Las Vegas this time around was the Nascar ride-along at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway. At 165+ mph and pushing serious Gs I almost passed out on turn one because I was squeezing every muscle trying to hold on. Once I realized this I started sucking air trying to get some oxygen. It was awesome and I’m gonna do this again someday. It was like $99 because we drove ourselves out there. Tours are around $150 and include bus transportation from the Strip.

I’ve been to Las Vegas dozens of times and I usually have fun every time. This was not only great fun but seeing Corey for a few days without any distractions was the perfect decompresser to my year so far.
