Lessons Learned On My Solo ATV Ride Today

Riding by yourself is usually not advised for safety reasons but that’s not usually my concern - I’m fairly safe on my own cause I’m naturally cautious.

I’ve never been on a solo ride because I like having company but today was different in that I needed some me-time and I also wanted to explore a little more and sometimes having a friend along slows you down.

So here’s what I learned:

  • Deer are just a stupid on the mountain as they are on the street - I almost hit 2 of them on the trail.
  • It’s too beautiful not to ride atv’s in the mountains - the trees are already changing colors hee in Utah.
  • The rivers aren’t as full as they were last year
  • There are so many trails in American Fork Canyon that you could spend 5 years exploring and never see it all
  • Heber Valley is so much more beautiful from above
  • I need to ride solo more often

The first Utah Facebook Developers Garage has just ended and it was very informing and mind-boggling.

Thanks to all involved, Phil Burns for putting it together, Twelve Horses for sponsoring and providing the room, Richard K. Miller, Jesse Stay, and Joseph Scott for presenting, and everyone for the pizza, snacks, and Dr. Pepper.

Join us next time by following the Facebook Developers Garage or contact Phil Burns.
