Wedding MBA: I survived

I was fortunate to survive the Wedding MBA convention in Phoenix this week. Firstly I missed my plane leaving Salt Lake City, then I checked into my hotel and there was nothing open in downtown Phoenix. I finally found some food.

My sleeping patterns have been all screwed up because we’ve been busy early in the morning to late at night. During the day it’s seminars and trade show and at night it’s networking with all the vendors.

But don’t get me wrong — I was having so much fun. Too much fun that I’m surprised I survived the week.

We did, however, sneek away for a Suns and Supersonics basketball game. That was a lot of fun.

Then upon returning to the airport, for free wi-fi to discuss blogs with Amy, Jacqueline, and David, I almost missed my flight because I didn’t check in on time.

Rambling on here, but I had a great time and enjoyed the company of so many wedding professionals looking to provide a better service to brides.

Tomorrow, I’m off to Seattle for our bridal expos for 10 days.

Getting Ready for Phoenix Wedding MBA

Posted on January 2nd, 2007 in Web Development | No Comments »

Following the Phoenix Bridal Fashion Debut & Wedding Services Expo, this weekend, will be the Wedding Merchants Business Academy and I’ll be speaking on Monday at 11 am.

Other great speakers will fill the schedule on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday touching on subjects such as:

- Sure-Fire Secrets of Wedding Success
- The Best Wedding Reception Ever
- Seven Ways to Get More Bookings From Bridal Shows
- 10 Ways Your Website is Killing Your Wedding Business
- and several more

Brides will flood the Phoenix Convention Center on Saturday and Sunday shopping at over 500 booths to find wedding vendors like wedding photographers, invitations, wedding cake, bridal dresses, and more.

After coming home for a scant 36 hours, I’ll turn around and leave for the NW Wedding Expos in Tacoma, Bellevue, and Lynnwood.

Don’t be surprised if my blog seems a little empty for the next few weeks. I’ll post as often as I can. Then it will be time to schedule a vacation in February — maybe somewhere warm like Southern California or Las Vegas.

Later this summer we’re looking to take the kids to Hawaii to follow our Hawaii Bridal Expo in July at the Blaisdell Center. I’m working with a travel agency in Kirkland, WA to find the right package.

Well that’s it for now. I’ll try to post photos of sunny Phoenix when I land.
